How this works—and what protects you.
Answers for production coordinators, directors, and clients. Sanitation protocols included.
For Production Coordinators & Directors
Every client fills out a health disclosure before I start. Allergies, sensitivities, and skin conditions are documented and accommodated. Barrier creams go on before any prosthetic adhesive. Latex-free alternatives are always stocked. Patch testing is available on request. On multi-day shoots, I monitor the skin and adjust products as needed to prevent irritation.
All reusable tools are disinfected between clients with EPA-registered, hospital-grade disinfectants (Barbicide, Lucas-cide). Workstations are sanitized before and after every application per CDC guidelines. Every client gets single-use disposable applicators — no double-dipping. Products are dispensed onto disposable mixing surfaces, never applied directly from the container to skin. Full protocol details are below.
Yes. I bring a full professional kit to every job — SFX supplies, prosthetic materials, airbrush equipment, and a wide product range. If a production needs dedicated supplies, kit rental can be quoted separately. Everything is cosmetic-grade, checked for expiration, and maintained to professional standards.
Travel is $5/mile round-trip from Sandusky, OH. On-location minimum: $300. For productions over 100 miles or 2+ hours away, a $100/day per diem applies. Lodging is provided by the production or billed separately. Client covers parking, tolls, and venue access fees. Available for film, stage, and TV productions nationwide.

Yes. Keeping looks consistent from day to day is a core part of the workflow. I maintain detailed continuity notes and reference photos throughout the shoot, and I'm built for quick changes and long production days.
Yes. I can lead the makeup department, work as the key artist, or operate solo — whatever the production needs. I bring my own kit. For larger casts, an assistant is available at $15–$20/hr, quoted separately.
Yes — SFX application, prosthetic application, airbrush effects, wound simulation, creature design, and body painting. Prosthetic fabrication is quoted separately. All SFX materials are non-toxic, skin-safe, and FDA-compliant.

For Photographers & Creative Collaborators
Absolutely. Collaborative concept development is built into how I work. I partner with photographers and creative directors to develop looks that serve the story, the lighting, and the final image.
Editorial and photographic sessions start at $200, depending on complexity, number of looks, and duration (45–180 minutes). Every project is quoted based on its specific scope.

Production Consulting
Pre-production planning, budget guidance for makeup departments, product sourcing, creative direction, and setting up continuity systems. Available remotely or in-person.
Yes. Remote consulting is available for productions that need specialized guidance without the full cost of an on-set artist. Virtual makeup direction during production is also an option.
30-minute ($150), 60-minute ($300), or 90-minute ($400) sessions. We can cover character design, department setup, budget optimization, or creative direction.

Working with Minors & Child Actors
Yes, with additional safety protocols in place. A signed parental or guardian consent form is required before any application begins. A parent or guardian must be present or within line-of-sight at all times. Patch tests are done 24–48 hours before the session for any adhesives or specialty products. Only gentle, water-based or high-purity silicone products are used — no harsh solvents or heavy adhesives unless medically cleared and guardian-approved. Every step is explained in age-appropriate terms to keep the experience calm and comfortable.
I maintain a dedicated junior kit for younger clients. Products are chosen for gentleness: water-activated makeups, hypoallergenic foundations, and skin-safe body paints. No latex, no heavy prosthetic adhesives, and no solvent-based removers unless a guardian explicitly approves and the role requires it. Everything is checked for age-appropriate safety data.
Yes, without exception. A written consent form signed by a parent or legal guardian is required before any work begins on a minor. This applies to all service types — standard makeup, SFX, body paint, and skin care applications.
SFX & Prosthetic Removal / Wrap Services
Removing SFX and prosthetics is a separate paid service called a Wrap Service — it's not included in the base application rate unless the contract says otherwise. Removing complex prosthetics, adhesives, and body paint takes dedicated time, professional solvents, and careful skin-care steps, so it's billed accordingly. Standard event makeup removal isn't included either, but a post-event care kit is provided.
Safe removal of all applied prosthetics, adhesives, body paint, and SFX materials. That includes solvent application, restoring the skin barrier, a post-removal moisturizing step, and cleaning up the workstation. For film and TV day rates, on-set cleanup is already included. For all other bookings, the Wrap Service is quoted as its own line item.
It depends on the complexity. Simple prosthetic pieces: 15–30 minutes. Full-face or multi-piece work: 45–90 minutes. Full body paint or creature suits: 60–120 minutes. Time and materials are billed at the standard hourly rate unless a flat Wrap Service fee was agreed on in the contract.
